Happy Mother’s Day!!
Well, I am laying here in bed waiting for my upgrade on my coffee- thanks dear!! My daughter Tigerlily, has given me a lovely card, and a great pen made into a flower in a little pot- the perfect thing to grace my desk when I finally get that dream teaching job:)
Here is the Acrostic poem she wrote using my name:
Juli
Unsmall
Likes Me
Informational ( she said that was because I was a teacher!)
How sweet! Her teacher asked if she really wnated to put that I was ‘Unsmall’ and she said yes which is funny….because we almost wear the same shirt size, in fact she fits in my small tees even though she is only 6.5 years old. She is very big, so thinking I am ‘unsmall’ is pretty funny…
She took over my new spinning wheel on Friday. I was teaching for the Kindergarten Class at her school and Daddy came to pick us both up- because I was carrying SO much stuff, and wanted to get home to my new present ASAP!!
So, as soon as it was up and running, Tigerlily was the one spinning- not me:(
But she did a pretty good job…I ned to show her how to pull the wool out better, she is getting some pretty thick yarn on the bobbin… but she’ll get there, probably before me, she is soooo smart…
Our Hindi classes are going pretty well too. I opted out of my first one last night, just couldn’t get out of bed yesterday. I spent the WHOLE day in bed working on my second (kind of) lace project. I am doing a KAL with the Loopie Groupies on Ravelry of the Shetland Triangle.
I broke out the Wollmeise for this one, because it takes at least 500 yrds, and I wanted no knots in this baby. I am using my Veilchen color, a mix of blues and deeper blues, beautiful. And going pretty quickly. I am nervous about putting it down, and forgetting what I am doing, I dropped two YO’s already, and figured out away to fix it without it showing up so far. Of course it could be a trick of the lace, so I am tempted today to steam block what i have done already just to make sure that it is exactly what it should be….otherwise, I’m ripping back!! So, far no lifelines, just stitch markers, but it is not too big yet, and maybe in one or two more rows, I will start adding them!
So, off to the left here, you can see my Tiger and her attempts at spinning….and soon I will be posting my attempts, I need to work while I am alone to find my own rhythm and then I can help her better, once I understand the machine better myself!
